Ways these Broncos together with their flexible quarterback can stop the Kansas City Chiefs' reign.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes live text for the weekend matchups via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , after recent talk regarding two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games was the amount of infractions each conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they kind of beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus Denver, who play in London this weekend.

However it was positive to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, to win the game by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers instead they could plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, we said during a show how the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They ended last season well then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while new RB JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

That shows how the Broncos represent a team that wants to run first, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable down and distances.

This has benefited QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass all over, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He has incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His assets are his movement, being able to throw while moving, as well as using different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays a lot of poise under pressure and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and is very decisive.

When you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the opponent to be on the field extended periods, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense has to cover the field vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and it seems the coach likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB that is similar to play-dough. The coach can truly build something up the way he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton has won a championship and has passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB helps shape him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, that's a good place to be in their division. All they need is is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the sole squad yet to win any game.

Since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
