Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in an LA Vehicle Accident

The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in Los Angeles, California aged 55.

Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The influential video game developer died after his car crashed and caught fire on a motorway in Los Angeles on Sunday, as reported by.

"This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and all those touched by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
