Los Angeles experienced widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Fans across the globe united with local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in 25 years that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds

Los Angeles area events included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.

Social media videos depict countless of Los Angeles residents flooding downtown streets, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The squad was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” the star player remarked through an interpreter.

The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the team walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses

Celebrations began well before the parade, with Dodgers fans setting off fireworks in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the MVP of the championship, spoke plainly about the win.

“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto stated. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

Varied Responses and City Unity

In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a less warm welcome at the rally. Video footage from the gathering seem to depict Walter walking onstage to a combination of applause and jeers, with jeers punctuating his address.

The championship acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater support.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a involved in this.”
